The Truth About Calcium Supplements and Osteoporosis

Transcript

Don't take calcium supplements whatever you do. Have you noticed in aged care, all the old people are on calcium supplements and they've all got osteoporosis. Now do the maths. Do the maths? Do the maths? Did you do the maths? Hear me out here. Let's say that bone density goes down with age for everyone. which it basically does. Now, not everyone actually goes below into the osteoporosis level, but it does drop. Now, let's say that calcium supplements attenuate that. Maybe not entirely stop it, but let's say that instead they do that. So if you were to see all the old people with osteoporosis on calcium supplements, that doesn't mean that the calcium supplements cause the osteoporosis, just that it doesn't fully cure it. It's like saying that everyone walking through a desert is thirsty, and all those people are continuously drinking water, so it must be that the water is making them thirsty because it's missing some sort of key nutrient. Or maybe it's just a desert. I have a full video on all of her calcium supplement claims, and they get pretty wild. But this little clip just popped up for me again, and I had to rant.
