If TikTok gets banned, which is looking scarcely more possible than it was yesterday, there's one thing that every creator on this platform should do ASAP. And it's not just direct your followers to the similar but worse American platforms. Anyone who's experienced the frustration of having tons of followers, but not being able to access them without making every video as clipbitty as possible, well, they should be doing this as well. Start a newsletter. It doesn't have to be fancy. It doesn't have to be to a set schedule. It just has to be a channel that lets you directly access your audience. anyone who genuinely enjoys your content and not leave you at the mercy of some big tech company or legislature. I just switched from Mailchip to Beehiiv because they think they're a bit sleeker and newbie friendly, but there are tons of other good free platforms out there. Let me know if you want a tutorial.
