I need your help with an engagement present, especially if you love music. Please watch this whole video. So first, yes, I'm engaged. She proposed to me, so I have to get back at her. It happened a while ago, but this is the first time I'm mentioning it on any social media. So here's the deal. This is Shira, and this, and this, we probably have more pictures together in costume than out. She's an unbelievable singer-songwriter. And that's not just my biased opinion. She made it through five rounds of callbacks for Hamilton on Broadway to play the lead. Or one of them. She's now working on recording her first album of original music. Everyone keeps telling her that establishing a presence on social media first is a must. But she hates doing anything gimmicky to game the algorithm. She just wants to sing and share music with people who will really appreciate it and resonate with it. And her songs get a bit deep, and sometimes nuts. But fake followers are worse than useless, so here's what I'm going to do. I'll play you a few quick samples, and only if you like them, go and follow her. If not, you can help just by liking and commenting on this post to help it spread. And every penny I get from the TikTok creative fund on this video is going to go towards some sort of crazy gift for her, which I will share with you guys. And one last thing before rolling to music. We're both Jews who don't use our phones from sundown on Friday night until after sundown on Saturday night. So phones are going off right after this video goes live, which means we've got 24 hours to blow this up before she sees any of the notifications. I'm trusting in you guys. Now roll the music. Let me introduce you to the thoughts in my head. The music of my dreams when I don't want to leave my bed. The lives I have light and the skins I've shed. These are the voices inside my head. my hand. Yeah. Oh, Oh, oh, Oh to know I'd rather jump down a rabbit hole to say I feel a thing So you could heartless Well, let me introduce you to Good king knows how to be a man in Please don't let this pop, I'll see you on the other side.
Additional notes
Here’s a game for the comments: comment some random weird word (e.g. porcupine or onomatopoeia) or a rhyming couplet. If this video actually works, I’m going to challenge her to take said comments, set them to music, and sing it for you guys! I’ll shout out my top ten favorite comments in a followup video 😀 I’m intentionally not tagging her here, but again it’s “@ shirabouskila” 🤞thanks guys!!
